The Highline Way

Some of the beautiful sights along the way. Mount Obelin stands tall at the trailhead and there are a few falls to cross along the trail. We had a wall of cold damp clouds roll over us as we cut behing Haystack Butte. It was amazing to see how fast these clouds build and snake their way up throught eh valley only to slip through you like a ghost and pass on their way in minutes.

Grinnell Glacier overlook

Nearing Granite Park Chalet we took a side spur trail up to Grinnell Glacier overlook. This was a steep trail and after the 7 miles already trekked it would take a toll on us. The view was worth the climb though and having hiked into both Grinnell Lake and up to the Glacier from the Many Glaciers trail this would complete my approaches to this wonderful Glacier.

Highline

This was the second consecutive year Mitch and I hiked the Highline Trail. It is a personal favorite of mine though it is a long exposed trail. Here we stopped at the Granite Park Chalet and looked back along the Garden Wall towards Login Pass.
